Advancing Strategic Partnerships: Women and Minorities in STEM

The NC State ADVANCE Developing Diverse Departments project will be holding a one-day conference on Friday, September 28, 2012, focusing on developing strategic partnerships and relationships and career development for faculty at North Carolina colleges and universities.

It will be a great opportunity for leadership and career development. Featured speaker Diane Magrane directs the Executive Leadership in Academic Technology and Engineering (ELATE) program,  and the ELAM (Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine) program, which has produced a large fraction of the female deans of medical schools in the US.

The conference will also be a great opportunity to hear Karen Dace, the author of the book “Unlikely Allies in the Academy: Women of Color and White Women in Conversation” discussing building cross-cultural, racial and ethnic collaborations.
