Interested in Pursuing Administrative Positions but Not Sure What it Takes?

The ADVANCE Developing Diverse Departments (D3) Project, a NSF and university-funded program intended to increase the number of women and minority faculty at NC State, will be offering a leadership training workshop in spring 2012.  The workshop series will consist of seven sessions, including three panels with administrators working in departmental, college, and university positions and four discussion sessions.  Each session will run 1 ½ hours, from 12-1:30 on Wednesdays (see schedule). Participants should be prepared to attend all sessions.

If you would like to participate in the spring 2012 workshop, please submit your application by Friday, November 4.

The application consists of a letter of interest and a brief current vita. The letter of interest should include a description of why you would like to participate, what you hope to obtain from the workshop, and your future plans or goals.

Applications should be sent to:

Ming Trammel, ADVANCE D3Project Coordinator (Ming_Trammel@ncsu.edu)

Applicants must be tenured Associate or Full Professors.  No administrative experience is necessary.  Applicants will be selected by the ADVANCE Senior Personnel, based on demand and interest, and will be notified of a decision by Friday, December 2.

If you would like more information, please contact workshop facilitators Betsy Brown (Betsy_Brown@ncsu.edu) or Laura Severin (Laura_Severin@ncsu.edu).
